Our staff receives training on Alzheimer's disease and the way it affects the residents' language ability, vision, behavior, and ability to take care of themselves.

Our staff members are selected not only for their technical skills and knowledge of how to provide personal care, but also for their ability to communicate well.

Lost Pines strives to have the best care possible for people who have Alzheimer's or related dementia's and to provide a loving home environment.

Residents will enjoy furnished private rooms in a secured home environment, with service plans designed using input from the residents and their families.

We have incorporated security features that ensure the safety of our residents.

Some of our safety features include:

• Hallway sensor lets us know when someone is entering the kitchen or living-room areas at night.

• Bedroom intercom monitors available for residents who want or need two way communication with a staff member at any time, day or night. 

• Security lock on chemical storage and medication room.

• Motion sensor/chime alarm on doors that lead to outside areas.
  

• Safety gate on front patio/deck.

• Smoke detectors in every room of the house. Fire Extinguishers in three locations inside the house.

• Security hand rails throughout the house.

• Private vanity/sink for each bedroom.

• Two large living-rooms and a large community area to foster comfortable gathering and socializing.
